I've been photographing newborns since 2010 — and my commitment to their safety goes beyond experience alone. I'm formally safety-trained in newborn posing and CPR certified for both adults and infants. In this studio, your baby is never just in good hands — they're in trained, prepared, and genuinely caring hands.

I've had families travel nearly two hours for their session. That kind of trust is something I never take lightly.
Located just 20 minutes from the heart of Mankato, my New Ulm studio is a peaceful retreat where every detail has been thought through in advance - so all you have to do is show up and be present with your baby.
My studio is located just outside New Ulm, Minnesota — a quiet, private rural setting with easy parking, complete privacy, and a calm environment designed specifically for new families.
Many of my clients make the drive from Shakopee, Jordan, Chaska, Savage, Glencoe, and the southwest Twin Cities corridor — not because there isn't a photographer closer to home, but because this experience is different. The studio, the preparation, the unhurried pace, the care — it adds up to something they couldn't find anywhere else.
A Studio Worth Traveling To
Here's how it works: Once you book, we use your estimated due date as your placeholder. When your baby makes their arrival, we'll schedule your actual session within that 10–21 day window.
Already had your baby? Reach out anyway. I accommodate last-minute sessions when my schedule allows, and babies up to three weeks old can still be beautifully photographed. After three weeks, I'd love to talk with you about a milestone session instead.
The short answer: as early as possible - ideally during your second trimester.
Newborns are best photographed in the first 10–21 days of life, when they're sleepiest and most naturally curled. Because I limit the number of newborn sessions I accept each month — so I can give each family my full attention — spots fill up well before baby arrives.

How do I order my images and products?
Once your gallery is delivered, you'll have 48 hours to choose your collection. After purchasing, you'll have 30 days to access your full gallery, download your high-resolution digital files, and explore my à la carte product offerings — including heirloom albums, folio boxes, framed wall art, and canvas prints. All products are on display in my studio, so you're always welcome to come see and touch them in person before making any decisions.

When should I book my newborn photography session?
The best time to book is during your second trimester — ideally around 20–28 weeks. Newborns are best photographed in the first 10–21 days of life, and because I limit my monthly newborn sessions to protect the quality of each experience, spots are reserved well in advance. Once you book, your due date holds your place on the calendar. When baby arrives, we'll confirm your session date within that golden window.
What should I bring to my newborn session?
Very little — and that's intentional. My New Ulm studio is fully stocked with everything needed for a beautiful session: wraps, bonnets, headbands, props, outfits for boys and girls in newborn through 24-month sizes, and neutral dresses for moms. If you have something sentimental you'd like to include — a special blanket, a meaningful prop, a family heirloom — you're absolutely welcome to bring it.
What if my baby is already born?
Reach out right away — I accommodate last-minute newborn sessions whenever my schedule allows. Babies photographed before three weeks of age can still be posed in those beautiful, curled newborn setups. After three weeks, posing options shift, but wrapped and awake images are still stunning. And if you feel you've missed the newborn window entirely, I'd love to talk with you about a milestone session for babies three months and up.
How do I book my newborn session?
Simply reach out through the contact form on this page or send me an email directly. I personally respond to every inquiry within 24 hours. To confirm your booking, a signed session agreement and session fee are required. From there, I take care of everything — you'll receive a full prep guide, wardrobe guidance, and personal reminders as your due date approaches.
What should I wear?
Before your session, you'll receive a complete style guide with wardrobe recommendations tailored to newborn photography. In general, soft neutrals — creams, whites, dusty blues, blush, sage — photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your baby. I also have a selection of neutral, flowy dresses available for moms in a range of sizes, so there's no pressure to find the perfect outfit on your own.
How long will it take to see my gallery?
I promise delivery within two weeks of your session — and I often deliver within five to seven days. My philosophy is simple: under-promise, over-deliver. You'll receive a notification the moment your gallery is ready.
