Some parents nap. Others enjoy a movie, pour a cup of coffee, or help themselves to something from the complimentary snack bar. When that happens, I know you feel at home — and that's exactly how it should be.
Safety, Experience & Baby-Led Posing
I've been photographing newborns professionally since 2010, and newborn safety has always been at the heart of my work. I have specialized newborn safety and posing training, as well as current infant and adult CPR/AED training.
My approach is baby-led. Your baby is never expected to fit into a rigid schedule or pose simply because we've planned it that way. We take the time your baby needs for feeding, soothing, cuddling, and settling. If your baby needs a break, we take a break. If something doesn't feel right, we change course.
Beautiful images are important—but your baby's comfort and safety will always come first.
You can relax knowing that your baby is being cared for by someone who understands newborns, knows when to slow down, and has the experience to handle the unexpected.
From the moment you arrive, you'll notice that everything here moves a little slower — and that's completely intentional.

My studio is located just outside New Ulm, Minnesota, in a quiet, private rural setting with easy parking, complete privacy, and a calm environment designed specifically for new families.
I've had families travel nearly two hours for their session. That kind of trust is something I never take lightly.
Located just 25 minutes from the heart of Mankato, my studio is a peaceful retreat where every detail has been thoughtfully considered in advance - from the wardrobe and styling to the comfort of your family and the care of your baby.
Families travel from Shakopee, Jordan, Chaska, Savage, Glencoe, and communities throughout the southwest Twin Cities corridor to experience something that feels different: unhurried, personal, and completely taken care of.
You don't have to worry about what to bring, what to wear, how to pose, or what happens next. Just show up and be present with your baby.

When should you book your Newborn Session?
Ready to preserve those first days?
Newborns are typically photographed within the first 10–21 days of life, when they're often sleepiest and most naturally curled. Because I limit the number of newborn sessions I accept each month, dates can fill well before your baby arrives.
The short answer: as early as possible - ideally during your second trimester.
Here's how it works: Once you book, we use your estimated due date as your placeholder. When your baby arrives, we'll schedule your actual session within that 10–21 day window.
Already had your baby? Reach out anyway. I can often accommodate last-minute sessions when my schedule allows, and babies up to three weeks old can still be beautifully photographed. After three weeks, I'd love to talk with you about a milestone session instead.

Once you're ready to book, I'll take care of the rest. Your session agreement and retainer secure your spot, and then I'll guide you through everything you need to know as your due date approaches.
How do I book my newborn session?
Very little—and that's intentional. My New Ulm studio is fully stocked with everything needed for your session, including wraps, bonnets, headbands, props, outfits for boys and girls, and newborn layers. I also have a selection of neutral, flowy dresses available for moms.
If there's something sentimental you'd love to include—a special blanket, meaningful prop, or family heirloom—you're always welcome to bring it.
What should I bring to my newborn session?
Before your session, you'll receive a complete style guide with wardrobe recommendations tailored to your family. In addition to guidance, I have a curated client wardrobe with beautiful, timeless pieces available for moms.
The goal isn't to find the “perfect” outfit—it's to choose something that feels comfortable, photographs beautifully, and keeps the focus where it belongs: on your family and your new baby.
What should I wear?
That's completely okay. Newborns don't always sleep on cue, and they don't need to for us to create beautiful photographs. My sessions are baby-led, so we take time for feeding, changing, cuddling, soothing, and whatever your baby needs.
Some babies sleep through their entire session. Others are wide awake, need extra snuggles, or simply take a little longer to settle. We work with your baby—not against them.
What if my baby doesn't sleep during the session?
Absolutely. Your newborn session is about your family, too. We'll include beautiful portraits of you with your baby, as well as sibling images when appropriate. I guide everyone through the process so you don't need to know how to pose or worry about what to do with your hands.
Do you photograph parents and siblings?
I typically deliver newborn galleries within two weeks of your session, and often sooner. My goal is to keep the process simple and stress-free—you'll receive an email notification the moment your gallery is ready.
When will I receive my newborn gallery?
Once your gallery is delivered, you'll have 48 hours to choose your collection. After purchasing, you'll have 30 days to access your full gallery, download your high-resolution digital files, and explore the artwork available for your family.
I offer heirloom albums, folio boxes, framed wall art, canvas prints, and other beautiful ways to preserve your family's story. If you'd like to see the artwork in person, you're always welcome to visit my studio before making any decisions.
